Natural Stone, Porcelain & Ceramic Tile
Trinity Flooring has a huge selection of natural stone, porcelain and ceramic tile. If you are looking for the up-to-date tile styles, Trinity has it all. We take pride in our tile selection and pricing.
Tile may be the only flooring material that truly works in any room of the house. It’s most often used in kitchens and bathrooms as well as foyers, mudrooms, and other high-traffic areas. Many homes, especially in warm climates, use tile to great effect in living areas and bedrooms, too. You really can’t go wrong with tile.
Tile is fairly easy to care for. Dirt, stains, and liquids all rest on the surface, allowing you to easily wipe or mop them away. Regular maintenance consists of sweeping or vacuuming with a soft brush attachment to keep the floor free of dirt and loose debris. If set-in stains do occur you can use most heavy duty cleaners without having to worry about damaging the material.
Trinity Flooring offers a wide variety of stone and tile products from the top brands in the industry, including Surface Art, Pental Surfaces, Daltile, American Olean, Florida Tile, Bedrosians, and many more. We offer personalized service and free in-home measurements and design consultations. Stop by our showroom today or give our flooring design consultant a call at (503) 667-2200.

Natural Stone, Porcelain and Ceramic Tile Use Cases
Porcelain clays are denser and thus less porous than ceramic clays, which makes porcelain tile harder and more impervious to moisture than ceramic tile. Due to its through-body composition, porcelain tile is considered more durable and better suited for heavy usage than ceramic tile.
When a ceramic tile is chipped, you find a different color underneath the top glaze. If a color-body porcelain is chipped, the color keeps on going, all the way through. As a result, chips that occur on color-body porcelains are much less noticeable or visible than ceramic tiles.
Many wall tiles are ceramic due to their lighter weight. Glazed ceramic flooring tiles have a hard protective top layer that makes the tiles more impervious to water and stains, making them naturally resistant to problems associated with high humidity conditions. Ceramic tile flooring typically costs less than porcelain tile.
Natural Stone refers to a number of flooring, wall, and ledgerstone products quarried and cut to the shapes of tile and wall panels from the earth. These products include Granite, Marble, Limestone, Travertine, Slate, Quartzite, Sandstone, Onyx, and others.
The use of natural stone not only has an appearance of elegance and sophistication with its natural beauty; it is timeless. It doesn’t become outdated or go out of fashion which is an added benefit, as you do not have to redesign your home every few years to keep up with the latest trends.
Natural stone tile flooring is often used to create a sense of space, by seamlessly using natural stone floor tiles throughout both the interior and exterior of your home.
Marble tiles can create a classic, luxurious look, whilst slate tiles create a more rustic look. Highly polished limestone tiles create a contemporary feel and some travertine floor tiles manage to combine elegance with rustic style.
Natural stone tile usually requires more ongoing maintenance than porcelain or ceramic tile but many homeowners choose to use stone over man-made tile because there is nothing else like it and no two tiles are identical. Stone tiles are porous, especially compared to porcelain tile, so spills should be cleaned up quickly. Stone should be sealed on a regular basis to keep it looking new and avoid water absorption.
